Our Church & Vicar
Hello, I’m Paddy MacBain, the Vicar at All Saints Danehill. In my work I seek to share the love of Christ in word and action with members of this parish.
As a church we have excellent connections with the school through weekly assemblies which are shared between myself, Meg Coppin as children (& families’) worker and Josh Watson as youth (& families’) worker. Nick Kirby-Turner and I serve as foundation governors and several church members assist as volunteers with the children’s learning. It is a privilege to be able to support the children’s education. Our goal is to support the school in helping children to develop habits of learning and Christian values of Curiosity, Collaboration, Imagination, Discipline and Persistence (click here to read about examples of the learning habits in the bible).
Throughout the school year, we remember with gratitude all teachers and school staff, governors and PTA members, with the great dedication and commitment which they so often bring to their roles. We aim to nurture our pupils while they are with us so they are ready to move on to new experiences. A number of children from Danehill School and the local area enjoy an excellent Summer Holiday Club (Wonderzone) hosted at All Saints’ Church. We worship together at our church across the year; this includes Harvest Festival, Christmas service, Nativity performance and Easter service.
Naturally, education is a life-long process and one of the exciting aspects for those of the Christian faith, and for us all, is that there is always more to learn and to discover. At the church, our 11am Sunday services are especially geared towards families with lively music and children’s groups part way through the service. We seek to understand more about the Bible and how it can help us, to quote the Danehill School motto, in ‘learning together, learning for life in all its fullness.’
With warm greetings,
Paddy
