Life in Badgers Class

Badgers class is where children start armed with the core skills of reading, writing and basic maths. They apply these skills in increasingly independent and sophisticated ways to the curriculum, learning to choose partners who will inspire and challenge them. As a result, they work together supportively and present themselves with confidence and flair.

By the time they go up to Kestrels, they are independent, inquisitive and sophisticated problem-solvers with a firm grasp of the basics and the skills to direct themselves effectively across the whole curriculum.

Meet the Class Teacher:

I’m James.  I love teaching Badgers class.  The children are endlessly inventive, and rarely a day goes by where we haven’t found a new and exciting way to learn something. The constant surprises and delights are what makes teaching a joy.

Meet the Teaching Assistants:

I am Gayle Stephenson. I was particularly drawn to Danehill as I find the Enlivened approach very exciting and I am eager to see the children develop their learning and characters in an inspiring and natural environment.

I am Val Carter and I’ve been involved with the school since 2006. Initially, I helped out in the nursery which was based where Foxes class is now. I trained as a nursery assistant and qualified in 2010. I’ve worked with children ever since and have been a teaching assistant for over 8 years at the school.

It’s a great place to work with the enlivened approach to teaching. The children learn through real experiences and are encouraged to be curious, ask questions and work together. The staff and the children support each other and the school feels like a very large family.

I am Pedro Carreira. I am a HLTA and I teach PE and Spanish across the school.   I also run all the very popular After-School Clubs, for more information, click on this After-School Clubs link.
