Christian Vision and Values
We have a clear vision for our school…
Our Christian values and Enlivened Learning habits are:Curiosity, Imagination, Discipline, Persistence and Collaboration.
To achieve our vision, we work to these 5 principles of Enlivened Learning, utilising a wide range of learning environments both indoors and out. See the Principles of Enlivened Learning section of this website for more about our innovative approach to the curriculum and how we deliver it and for some examples of these habits in The Bible, see Learning Habits and Values in The Bible. This engaging curriculum achieves the learning habits in a way that also ensures each child achieves their very best.
Like all schools we are keen to ensure that our children make strong progress with the skills and knowledge set out for them. We are very proud of the results we have achieved to date, but we are also determined that our children should develop the habits of learning and Christian values of Curiosity, Collaboration, Imagination, Discipline and Persistence that are key for successful lifelong learning and spiritual development. This determination has led us to replace a conventional ‘assembly line’ model of education with an ‘enlivened’ one that has the capacity to engage and inspire lively minds.
Children of all ages are given opportunities to co-create projects that excite and motivate everyone to achieve their very best. Extrinsic rewards are replaced with the on-going intrinsic reward of working towards authentic outcomes (such as exhibitions, book launches, theatrical performances) to which the whole school community is invited.
SIAMS Inspections:
The Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools (SIAMS) is the Church of England and Methodist Church’s outworking of the requirements of section 48 of the Education Act 2005. It is a key element of the life of all Church of England and Methodist schools in England. A SIAMS inspection focuses on the impact of the Church school’s Christian vision on pupils and adults. This involves looking at the school’s Christian vision, the provision the school makes because of this vision and how effective this provision is in enabling all pupils to flourish.
