Life in Hedgehogs Class

Play and exploration underpin everything we do in Hedgehogs.  The children have autonomy and choice throughout the day; building independence, skills and knowledge through areas that interest them. We also work collaboratively on larger projects, providing opportunities for the children to apply their skills in meaningful ways. Our priority is to build confident, resilient leaners who are eager to challenge themselves throughout the day.

Meet the class teachers:

I am Karen Evans. I have been teaching Early Years for over 20 years and especially love the approach to teaching and learning at Danehill. Being Australian, the emphasis on outdoor learning really resonates with me. I enjoy creating opportunities for children to learn through authentic experiences, using our outdoor classroom and surrounding woodland.

I am Meghan Upton. I teach Hedgehogs on Wednesdays and also teach Foxes Thursdays-Fridays. My previous job was a Forest School teacher and I enjoy leading Outdoor Woodland Learning (OWL) for all children in Hedgehogs and Foxes class.
